Happy Earth Day!

Here's a little poem I wrote while sitting in a little grove, admiring the Beauty of nature this week. The poem is happily accompanied by a few of my favorite nature shots of the Thai-Burma Border.

When the sky sees the earth thirsty,

He gives up his water to quench her thirst

Asking for nothing in return, he trusts

That she will do the same for him

The earth generously raises flowers from her breast

The flower willingly sacrifices itself for the deer

The doe, seeing her master, the peaceful hunter

Lays down her life with humble delight

Shall the hunter forget the Peace which guided him?

Shall he, ignorant of the order of life

Then refuse to give back to his sister, the earth?

Or even his human brother?
